Grey Blue Tattersall Checks Button Down Cotton Shirt ’1699.00
Stiff Collar posted 1 years ago to their For my closet postboard.
Grey Blue Tattersall Regular Fit Full Sleeves Button Down Cotton Shirt We have relaunched the grey blue tattersall, a fast seller in the early days of The Stiff Collar. Subtle checks, 50s count pure cotton. The fabric is singed, mercerised and softened to superb effect. An anytime shirt, worn to the office on lazy Fridays. Comfort wear, just right for a start-up team flexing their muscles. The square pattern with alternating coloured lines, is worn by horse riders in the UK and on occasion their dogs. It takes its name from woollen blankets, originating in the Tattersall horse market in London in 1766. Now a popular pattern for men’s wear, though the checks are smaller. And the fabric finer by a length. This classic fit shirt features a button-down collar to keep the ties in place, a convertible cuff along with a long round length to keep the shirts tucked in and a split yoke across the shoulders which ensures comfort and style. The "Button Down" concept was discovered in the 19th century by the English Polo players, in order to avoid their collars from flapping and create a distraction. This, however, today has become one of the most stylish spectacles in men’s shirts, after John Brooks (of Brooks Brothers fame) adopted this concept and began selling these shirts in his family stores. Originally believed to be a dress shirt, now is a redefined as a ’business casual’ clothing. Bringing you the versatility of a shirt that looks good when worn with a suit and tie, but looks even better with denim and chinos.
